Indian Land Gets Its Money Back
Indian Land will be getting its money back. As you may recall, when the zip code changed from 29715 to 29707, Indian Lands zip code was inadvertently designated as a York County zip code by the S.C. Department of Revenue. Therefore, sales tax from area businesses were deposited straight into York County funds and went to York Countys Pennies for Progress road program. The sales tax error was discovered by Lancaster County Fire Marshal Stephen Blackwelder. A check for $55,000 will soon be received by Lancaster County.
