Jerry’s Routine Home Maintenance Tips
Air Filters: It’s perfectly fine to use inexpensive filters, but be sure to change them monthly during peak usage and quarterly during non-peak. This will allow the appliance to operate more efficiently, increase longevity, and save on the wallet. HVAC: Check to ensure primary condensation line is not clogged or obstructed. A clear indication of it being compromised is if the secondary condensation line is dripping or the pan at the furnace is holding water.
Plumbing: Set some time aside (monthly or quarterly) to check for leaks around toilets, under sinks, washer and at fixtures. It’s worth catching these early since they can be quite costly short and long term. Dryer: Take a peek behind the dryer at the duct connection and at the outside vent for lint build up. Vacuum at least once per year.
